This Privacy Policy describes how jscriptz (“we,” “us,” or “our”)
collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Acrophobia mobile application
(Bundle ID: com.jscriptz.acrophobia) and any related services
(collectively, the “App”). By using the App you agree to the practices
described in this policy.
Acrophobia is a real-time multiplayer word game rated 12+. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account & Authentication Data
We support multiple sign-in methods through Firebase Authentication:
- Anonymous sign-in – a randomly generated user identifier is created; no personal information is required.
- Google Sign-In – we receive your Google display name, email address, and profile photo URL.
- Apple Sign-In – we receive the identifiers Apple provides, which may include your name and email (or a private relay email).
1.2 User-Generated Content
When you play Acrophobia you create content that is stored on our servers:
- Player display names
- Submitted acronym phrases during gameplay
- In-game chat messages
1.3 Game & Profile Data
We store gameplay information in Firebase Firestore, including:
- Game history, scores, and statistics
- User profile settings and preferences
- Friends lists and social connections
- Purchased items (avatars, gems, subscriptions)
1.4 Purchase Data
In-app purchases (the AI Pro subscription, gem packs, and avatar packs) are processed through Apple’s App Store and Google Play, with subscription management handled by RevenueCat. We receive transaction identifiers and entitlement status but do not receive or store your payment card details.
1.5 Analytics & Device Data
Firebase Analytics automatically collects:
- Device model, operating system, and version
- App version and crash/error logs
- Usage patterns (screens visited, feature engagement)
- General geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID), subject to your device permissions
1.6 Advertising Data
Google AdMob serves banner and interstitial advertisements in the App. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and interaction data to deliver relevant ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.
1.7 Push Notification Tokens
If you grant permission, we collect your device push token via Expo Notifications to send you game invitations, turn reminders, and other relevant alerts.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and multiplayer game services
- Authenticate your identity and maintain your account
- Store and display your game history, scores, and statistics
- Enable social features such as friends lists and in-game chat
- Process and validate in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Send push notifications you have opted into (game invitations, turn alerts)
- Generate AI-powered gameplay content (phrase suggestions, translations, bot answers) by sending relevant game data to the Anthropic Claude API
- Serve advertisements through Google AdMob
- Analyze usage trends and improve the App through Firebase Analytics
- Detect and prevent abuse, cheating, and policy violations
- Comply with legal obligations

4. AI-Processed Content
Certain gameplay features are powered by the Anthropic Claude API. When you use these features, the following data may be sent to Anthropic’s servers:
- Acronym letters and category context for AI phrase suggestion generation
- User-submitted phrases for translation into other supported languages
- Game context used to generate bot player answers
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following circumstances:
- With other players – Your display name, avatar, submitted phrases, chat messages, and scores are visible to other players in your game room.
- Third-party service providers – As described in Section 3, data is shared with our service providers to operate the App.
- Advertising partners – Google AdMob may collect device and interaction data to serve and measure advertisements.
- Legal requirements – We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Safety and enforcement – We may share information when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data according to the following guidelines:
- Account data – Retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
- Game history and scores – Retained for the lifetime of your account to provide historical statistics.
- Chat messages – Retained for the duration of the game session. Messages in completed game rooms may be deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Anonymous accounts – Inactive anonymous accounts and their associated data may be automatically purged after 180 days of inactivity.
- Analytics data – Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Google’s default retention settings (14 months for user-level data).
- AI-processed content – Phrases sent to the Anthropic Claude API are not stored by us after the response is received. Anthropic’s data retention policies apply to data processed on their servers.
- Push notification tokens – Retained while your account is active and push notifications are enabled. Tokens are removed when you disable notifications or delete your account.
7. Your Rights
7.1 All Users
Regardless of your location, you may:
- Access your profile data within the App
- Update or correct your display name and profile settings
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
- Opt out of push notifications through your device settings
- Reset your advertising identifier or limit ad tracking through your device settings
7.2 European Economic Area (GDPR) EU/EEA
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the following additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:
- Right of access – Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification – Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure – Request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Right to restrict processing – Request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability – Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object – Object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent – Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Our legal bases for processing your data include: performance of a contract (providing the game service), legitimate interests (analytics, fraud prevention, App improvement), consent (push notifications, personalized ads), and legal obligations.

7.3 California Residents (CCPA) CA
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know – Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete – Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to opt out of sale – We do not sell your personal information as defined by the CCPA.
- Right to non-discrimination – We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.

8. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, you may not use the App or provide any information to us.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at the address listed in Section 10.
For users between the ages of 13 and 17, we recommend parental or guardian review of this Privacy Policy. In-app chat and user-generated content features are available to all users; parents and guardians should be aware that player-submitted phrases and chat messages are visible to other players in a game room.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification.
Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
